Manchester United midfielder IS heading to Euros after all
Morgan Schneiderlin is the benefactor of an injury to France midfielder Lassana Diarra.
Morgan Schneiderlin was one of the major omissions from Didier Deschamps' France squad for the forthcoming European Championships: a snub made all the more painful by the fact that the tournament is to play played on Schneiderlin's home soil.
However, the Manchester United midfielder has struck lucky by dint of Lassana Diarra's striking unlucky; the Marseille midfielder (and, if rumours are to be believed, United target) has suffered a knee injury that has ended his tournament before it ever got going, and Schneiderlin has been drafted in as a like-for-like replacement.
It's certainly nice to see that Schneiderlin will be given a chance to shine at the Euros, though it'd be understandable if it felt, at least for the time being, like a hollow victory. With any luck this will spur him onto even stronger performances when called upon, as he bids to prove his worth after a faintly underwhelming domestic campaign.
